ActiveWDM is a technology that enables transport of multiple network connections over optical fiber. Active means that power is available in the chassis for regeneration of signals, optical amplification monitoring and management functions. All our active WDM products are insertable in various modular chassis.
The WDM modules are designed for deployment with our WDM optics that are plugged into the modules. Our active solutions are as straightforward as possible to install and to operate and require an absolute minimum in maintenace effort.
Of course our active WDM devices have life time warranty.
The portfolio includes DWDM and CWDM ITU wavelength grid based channel modular solutions equipment for dual fiber and single fiber, bi-directional communication.
Opticonnects’ OCW-1300 and OCW-400 are CWDM/DWDM managed chassis that deliver up to 40 channels and up to 400 Gbps over a pair of SM fiber cables for a distance of up to 160Km.
Both chassis are equipped with dual AC or DC Power Supply Units for five nines availability support and a hot swappable fan tray, making it an affordable and scalable solution for small to large enterprises and service providers.
The OCW series management modules provide for field’s management software download (via TFTP), local management via CLI port and Network-Management via SNMP.
OCW products do not require a specific Network Management System (NMS) and can operate with any SNMP browser.
To enhance the user experience we suggest using Opticonnects Graphic Network Management (GUI) application - to simplify the system’s monitoring and controlling.
OCW’s transparent SFP, XFP and SFP+ based fiber-in fiber-out transponders are hot swappable and support all digital protocols in the range 30 Mbps to 10 Gbps, while performing 3R (Reshape, Regenerate and Retransmit) signal conditioning.
